How to use the chess opening database

Play or import moves, then inspect continuations in Master DB. The game count and result split describe the games available at that position. They do not predict the result of your next game. Check the displayed database coverage and sample size before choosing a line.

Add a player panel to compare their available repertoire with the master sample. Keep White and Black results separate, and inspect the source and filters for each panel. Open example games to understand the plans behind a popular move, then use Stockfish to check concrete tactics.
